Tim & Kim : She is everything to me, except my wife

Summer Solstice - something all Minnesotans look forward to each year.  This year, Tim and I headed north to celebrate with life-long friends of his, along the St. Louis River in Duluth, MN, for their annual Summer Solstice party.  Saturday was a day of walking along the scenic river, on a well beaten, back woods paths with our dogs, our friends, and the amazing warm sunshine of the budding Season. The afternoon was filled with friendship, laughter and complete relaxation.

That evening, the party was in full-swing as the sun was starting to get low on the horizon, with Bald Eagles flying overhead.  We we enjoyed great food, tremendous laughter, a fantastic 2-piece live band, and a bonfire.  It was the perfect day - how could life get any better, I asked myself?  Well....as the band took their first break, it did get better.  The love of my life; the man I fell in love with at first sight, asked for everyone's attention, got down on one knee, and asked for me to be his wife.  Once I realized what was happening, I could not say YES fast enough!

After the excitement of the moment settled down a bit, I learned that my beautiful custom engagement ring was designed and made by our friend, Ambrosia.  We met Ambrosia a few years ago in Sturgis, where she was a fellow vendor.  We have had the pleasure of getting to know her personally, and I've always longed after her incredibly beautiful artisan jewelry.  Knowing that Tim and Ambrosia worked together, in secret, to pull off the surprise of a lifetime and create a beautiful symbol of our love that will last forever, still brings tears to my eyes.
